Spirituality isn’t Valium. It’s Cayenne Pepper, Baby!

Cayenne Pepper

So many people use trusting the Universe or believing in God’s plan or what’s meant to be, as a kind of pious reason to sit in their rocking chair, nurse their wounds and wait for a rainbow, a paycheck or a patron to come knocking at their door. Yeah, well, my spirituality is a call to vibrancy. It’s got rocket fuel. Because I do trust Spirit, because I do believe that I am meant to be what I dream of being, I take action. My faith gives me legs to go with my wings.

My faith wakes me up in the mornings and bubbles with ideas. Since I believe I can live my dreams, I act on them. Faith doesn’t make me docile and passive. It energizes me. It’s like going shopping with an unlimited bank account. You don’t hesitate to go for what you really want.

For years, I wasn’t totally sure that believing in a God or Higher Self was responsible. I got a little edgy about basing my entire life on some big loving power I couldn’t see. It made me nervous that dust bunnies seemed more real. Then, finally, because I’m a logical woman, I came to this simple and exquisite equation. I accomplished more when I believed more. End of story. It didn’t even matter if Spirit was less real than yesterday’s gum wrapper. My results: Freedom, love and joy were more real than anything else I’d ever experienced.

Now years down the road, I don’t question whether or not Cosmic Brilliance is real. I’m real, and I’ve tasted super powers. Recently I read this quote from A Course in Miracles, “Do not set limits on what you believe I can do through you, or you will not accept what I can do for you.” See, that’s what I’m talking about. When you take actions on your dreams, you activate inspired energy. You magnify your strength. You put love in motion. Let me tell you, when you feel that Love come through you to the tune of forgiveness, genius and luscious presence, that’s everything. But, hey, the “real world” results are fun and fine, too.

So I have no idea why people call prayer, self-inquiry and meditation naval gazing. When you get in touch with your real self, you are star gazing, baby – seeing a constellation of grace and the utmost of who you are and what you came here to do. Spirituality isn’t just a comfort and a substitute for Valium. It’s my go juice.

Thank-you! Thank-you! Thank-you, Tama! This couldn’t have come at a better time for me. Thank-you, again!

Love it! Sounds like something I would write.

Thank you. I get SO tired of Whisper Spirituality. The Divine gave us Will for a reason.

I get tired of wimpy woo woo that tells me to sit back and just think happy (and soft) thoughts.

Whatevs. :)

I love Tama!!

I love the way that you framed spirituality – it was real and tangible. I’ve been struggling for a while with this issue of realness and it’s refreshing to be reminded that spirituality should be embraced for one’s self.

This is just what I needed to hear. Thank-you so much for the inspiration!

I believe in God, and I think people often think He is just going to give you stuff if you say you love Him. …but that’s not how it works. I think your take on being active and energized is really great, and once that energy is put into the God of love and grace, there is power and beauty. The Holy Spirit brings comfort, peace, and joy. :)

Everyone reading this…enjoy your day and live it up! :) Peace to you all.
