You are such an angel to be highlighting the plight of dairy cows. So many people swear off veal, due to the inherent cruelty of confining males calves to crates so small that they cannot even turn around. But what most people don’t know is that by purchasing dairy products, they are directly supporting the veal industry. Cows ,like humans, only produce milk when they give birth. Dairy cows are artificially inseminated by farmers (on what is commonly referred to as the “rape rack”). A day or two after giving birth, babies are taken from their moms so they don’t “waste” any of their milk. Female calves will be subjected to the same life of confinement, forced insemination, and milk extraction as their moms. Male calves are put into crates and soon killed for veal.

I used to be fully addicted to cheese, so I know that giving it up can seem impossible. But there’s nothing in dairy we need that we can’t better get from natural, healthier food sources. We’re the only species on the planet that drinks the milk of another species and we’re the only species on the planet that drinks milk as adults. Most mainstream doctors, nurses, and dietitians believe that we need dairy for calcium. But after looking at thirty-four different studies from sixteen different countries, researchers at Yale found that dairy had no positive effect on bone health. There is nothing in cows’ milk that we need. We could be drinking gorilla milk or giraffe milk or giraffe milk right now. It just so happens that dairy farmers chose cows’ milk to produce and sell.

After multiple visits to the “rape rack”, multiple babies taken from them, and thousands of pounds of milk pilfered from them, once these poor cows are “spent” and can no longer produce milk, they are shipped off to slaughter.

So whether you’re talking organic, free-range, or even goats’ milk, “dairy” is synonymous with “cruelty.”

It also spells disaster for humans who ingest it. Dairy has been scientifically linked to obesity, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, kidney stones,cataracts, macular degeneration, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s. It’s also been linked to breast, prostate, and rectal cancer.

I didn’t know that the tonsils played a role in the immune system. Learn something new everyday. I unfortunatly have had too much surgery and feel like I’ve been run down by a truck. I followed your lead today and picked up a bottle of cell food. I think it’s the first supplement I’ve ever taken that gave me immediate results. I felt for the first time today that I had some energy and the cellfood made that possible. So thank you Kris. I have learned SO much from you.

This is Katie from Radford, Virginia. I just wanted to tell you how much you and all of your work has helped me, especially when my mom was going through her treatments. I spent my summer living at my mom’s house while she was in the hospital, in a city where I didn’t really know anyone. One day, when my mom was having chemo, you came on one of those day-time shows (I can’t remember which one) and I decided to buy your book.

I think it might have actually helped me more than it did my mom.
Being able to read your blogs and the inspiring stories of others made me feel like I wasn’t alone…and believe me I was really lonely. It almost seemed like no one wanted to be around us, like my mom’s cancer was contagious or something.

I don’t know, all of this talk about ports takes me back! My mom loved hers, she used the power port and she just had it removed about a month and a half ago. But she highly recommends it… just make sure your nurses know what kind of port you have, because you access certain ones differently.

Any how, just wanted to say thanks again for all that you do and to remind you of all the positive energy you bring to this world.
P.S. Don’t worry, I am madly in love with my veggies and I’ve been a vegetarian since 4th grade! Everyone can make a difference; just take it one meal at a time :)
