Goddess Group – 21 Day Recap

Howdy juice connoisseurs,
It’s OVER!!!! OMG am I sooo relieved!!! I wish I could say that I absolutely loved the experience or that I think everyone should try it. I’m so not sure. The first half was phenomenal but by day 17 I felt like stuck turd on a shoe. Maybe some of you pro’s can “weigh” in. Folks like my friend Philip McCluskey went 100 days and supercharged his health! Everyone is different. I’m not down on fasting and I’ll still do it once a week (not now, in the future) but long term liquid lover I am not. Of course, the treatments heightened my experience so I’ll never really know what put me over the edge. I didn’t just house clean – I gutted and renovated in a way that most long term feasters will never experienced. Some rebuilding is definitely in order. FAT HERE I COME.
I’m still a fan of laying off the oils in the beginning but I’m changing my stance on omitting fats for the long term faster. More research is in order when my brain de-fogs and napping isn’t the only thing on my mind. Salt is king! Without my daily intake of salt my electrolytes would be in the toilet. To be fair, part of what’s happening is an intense candida die off and full body re-boot. Holy crow! Let’s just say I saw it with my own eyes. No need for details. The memory of my colon hydrotherapist’s dropped jaw is enough.
I’m proud I got through it, proud I was willing to try. Would I do it again? Nope. I think my limit is about 5-7 days at the turn of the seasons. Giving your body a rest is an amazing and important but is there a tipping point? Again, I’m not qualified to answer this question. Yet I intuitively feel that in my third week my body was more taxed than relaxed.
Coming off the fast is as important as carefully planning your juice filled days. For every 3 days you fast you need 1 day to come off it. Blended, blended, blended baby!
So just to recap: I made a HUGE dent in my candida. Colonics are supreme, without them I could never have kept up with the amount of cleansing happening in my body. My liver dumped, lymph barfed, colon exorcised the demon. My energy level was amazing for the first ten(ish) days then wicked sucky. My skin cleared, freaked, then cleared again. My eyes are as white and bright as a baby. I lost ten pounds (which I want back!) – would have been way more if I had more to lose. My circulation got much better. Clearly there were pluses. Bottom line: It was a helpful roller coaster.
One thing I know for sure, I LOVE NYC and I look forward to where this new journey will take me. My treatments will continue in a less intense fashion for the next few months and then I’ll know more about the amazing benefits of detoxing the body while introducing oxygen treatments. Oh what a wild ride!
On another note…
Check out Sirius Channel 114, XM Channel 119, www.sirius.com today from noon – 2 pm. The dynamic Matt Zachary (“I’m Too Young for This”) and I will be on Doctor Radio.
Peace and solid food,
Kris

I just wanted to say thanks, you will never know how much your book, and this blog have helped me to see that I have control over my health, that is something no one can take away from you….I do no not have cancer, and I won’t bore you with details, but in a nutshell, I am a 29 year old healthy ( or so i thought), athletic, fun mother of three..4 years ago i became sick with “mono” and the yellow color my skin turned was just normal for mono, ???? ok i said…there dr’s they know more than i do about my own body right? after months of being a human pumpkin they did every test they could….and found that i had primary sclerosing cholangitis ( for lack of a better diagnosis) whatever that means….anyway my body is basically attacking my bile ducts and while most of them are strictured, some are just missing? the only cure is liver transplant…once i am sick enough????? they treat me with steriods, which i hate…..i want to do this my way, cooking for your family and then sipping your green smoothie is pretty hard to do, my husband is supportive and helps a lot, but it is nice to read your blog….makes me feel hopeful, so thanks again.

Krisolicious, You are SO right on! I am doing cleansing on a daily level, not so intense, but man it can be hard. all that sucky stuff means mass cleaning of that god pod of yours and I am (sorry) so GLAD you felt bad, because that means the bad stuff was working it’s way OUT .. and that is the best news ever.
love you big
go eat an apple!
deb xoxoxo
Kris, lovely green goddess, you are the strongest woman! I’m beaming with pride at your awesome accomplishment and I can’t wait to hear every detail!! Welcome back to blended, raw, green FOOD that you can sink you teeth into =)
Luv ya,
Becky
Good work Kris! Great that you’re beating the candida- that’s my next ‘intermediate’ health goal too. It must feel a lot better without that energy sucker! Enjoy your real food! (I’m still guzzling the green juice every morning: great! Thanks so much for introducing me)
And ehm, we’d looooove to hear the details on the jawdropping colonic exorcism ;-);-)
You are my SUPER HERO! ( can someone make a super hero action figure of you Kris Carr I would buy that !)I love your honesty no matter what. I agree w/ Ambidee do share darling… Looks like we can’t get enoungh of you we even want you poopie stories peace and superpowers to you , clarta
I know you said there was no need for details but I’m really curious about what a candida die-off looks like. Is there something we should know about what to look for?
You’re amazing and so courageous, Kris.
I love the post and reading about your experience. My limit with liquid fasting tends to be about 3-5 days. I love food! More importantly, I love nourishing, nutrient dense food :) (Besides, it’s hard to be a chef and fast – haha)
Cheers,
Kristen
Congratulations on completing the fast and all the heavy duty detox, and thanks for taking us along for the ride. I’ll be interested to hear more as you choose to reveal it (such as where you were and if you would recommend it as a clinic). Also, did you find out what brand of hydrochloric acid they gave you and if it’s vegetarian? Again, congratulations and thank you for all your honesty.
yay! you’re back! congrats on making it the whole 21 days!
Congrats on finishing your fast! I did one for 4 days, but day 3 I thought I was dying..haha! I haven’t done one since, that was last summer. I am so mad I missed you on doctor radio, I listen all the time! D’oh!
on the awe inspiring colonic.. last time I went, almost done and the therapist said it was the most she has seen in months come out of anyone!
Honey Bean.. you are absolutely amazing. This was no easy task and to think you ended it on Ash Wednesday. Anyone who has done that kind of intensive cleansing knows the body is one sensitive organ. It is a miraculous thing how it all works together. I hope you get to enjoy the foods you love and getting that little tushie back. haa. you had nothing to lose.. I have done well today.. on green goddess day but I start a huge cleanse mind bod and spirit today. I salute you and all you have done. This is your year.. give NYC our love and enjoy the lights and concrete.. enough institutional lighting.. Love ya. Callie
Yay you! Congrats on completing such a major accomplishment! Now you are lean and clean! What an inspiration you are. You didn’t know it, but I followed along with you for a while. I completed my 14-day juice fast on Sunday, and boy what a journey it was. I had the skin issues and all the weird substances evacuating my body… the whole ball of yarn. But it really worked. I had a wonky uterus giving me a lot of pain and about a week into the fast the pain disappeared and hasn’t come back.
Today I reintroduced grains. Hallelujah! The ezekiel pita with fresh hummus and olives I had for lunch today was like God herself sat me down and hand-fed me her homemade apple pie. Absolute food-bliss! I wish you many moments of tender, careful food bliss in the days to come. –Mo
Congratulations Kris! NYC is glad to have you back….indeed life is good. Ten lbs! You must be a skinny minny by now! You were before you started. I wish you well…
Kris,
I’ve been curious about the oxygen therapies & can’t wait to hear how much it helped you!!
Kris, you superstar! You did it!! Yippee the food can come back and the body has been turned inside out, hoovered, dusted and thrown back into perfect order! You are beautiful Kris. Thanks for sharing.
I have stuck to 5-7 day fasts in the past but I’m planning a 14 day fast in April. Got to love the experiments..
Enjoy the Vita-Mix
Casey xx
Congrats, Kris. You are one ballsy and beautiful babe. I am bowing down to you!

Hi Kris – What is the name of the center you went to in Arizona? My friend was just diagnosed with breast cancer, and would like to do aternative therapies such as ozone and homeopathy. Thank You!!!
Congrats Kris on sticking with it to the end. That is definitley an accomplishment. I have been wanting to do a 6-7 day cleanse, but have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?
I also wanted to thank you for being such a strong person to look up to. I had ovarian cancer 3 years ago. I was diagnosed right after the birth of my second daughter. The hardest part for me now is not going crazy with worry whenever I get a cold, flu or a stomach ache! LOL I am cancer free now and am on a mission to lose the last 40 of the 70 lbs I gained over the years.
Once again, thanks for being you!
Kris: What a brave lady you are. I have the desire but will power is another issue. Please, more info on where you went in Arizona. I have a daughter there and have been going there for altenative treatment for my stage 4 endometrial. Thanks for all the info you share. Blessings, Liz
Hi, thank you for inspiring me to finally do the 9 day cleanse (5 days liquid only) I had started, and stopped:(, several times since early January. I ended mine on Feb. 26th with a colonic where I expelled my first mucus plug. Yuck! It excited my hydrotherapist though!

You’re back! It feels sunnier on this coast with you here. This blog reinforces the fact that everyone is different and we need to listen to our bodies and minds to find the healing path that fits our needs! xoxo
