Beloved Susan, you know you changed my life, and you continue to inspire me! That story Melissa just posted brought tears to my eyes. What a gift.
I’m writing this while being out to lunch with myself at the Kigali Serena Hotel in Rwanda. You know I met Immaculée Ilibagiza the weekend when I came to see you at Celebrate your Life in 2005–and that completely changed my life! Two weeks after meeting her, I was on that plane to Rwanda to see her there, and 7 months after that, my hubby and I returned to adopt our two children!
You are a beacon of hope indeed, and I love you!

Susan,

I lost my husband May of 08 to a heart attack 7 months after we were married. I wanted to go be with him in the worst way. 4 months after he passed I was reading your wild woman book, and I decided to take myself out on a date like you recommended. I walked into a restaurant that Mark and I used to go to and sitting at the table where Mark proposed to me was Jeff. I sat at the table in front of him. Later when I heard him talking to the waitress about an appetizer I turned around smiled and told him the french fries are really good. Then I said “You know, you are sitting in my seat?” He offered me a chair next to him. We have been together ever since, and were married Oct.3rd.

I wanted you to know that your writing has had such an impact on my life as to help me find my soul mate. You are my inspiration.

I started the “Wild Succulent Woman Social Club”in Jan. of this year on Meetup and it is still going strong. I have met the most fabulous women. If they haven’t read your books when they join they read them after they hear about you.

You change lives Susan, don’t ever forget that!!!!

I am writing your definition for creative on my bedroom wall. It is my visulization board.. yep the wall.. the whole thing. haha.. I just bought a new house and I am trying to figure out how to move that wall.. cut it out or photograph it.. it moves me. I absolutely love your succulent wild woman idea.. are you ever right. SARK! Succulent Wild Woman changed my life when I read it for the firs time in my early twenties! I was so empowered by you to make choices that made me feel good and excited, while also getting out of a bad relationship! That book has been on my shelf through many moves and life changes, I always think of you as a dear old friend. I love that you are writing on the this amazing site!
