“Crazy Sexy You”

Squash Pancake,
It’s official. I start writing my third book, “Crazy Sexy You: A Gutsy Guide to Optimal Health, Happiness and a Great Ass!” (working title) – TODAY. The “Crazy Sexy You” part is a definite, my subtitle changes every 27 minutes. As always, your ideas are welcome.
Staring at a blank page and knowing that 80,000 words (and 100+ images) are due by next winter is very spooky. Bring on the sweat pants, greasy locks and hairy arm pits! Why did I say yes to this? I love/hate writing books. All you authors out there know exactly what I mean. It’s ooh-la-la hunky dory when ya get the offer, but then the actual work begins. If you can imagine perspiring blood, that’s what it feels like at times. All complaining/fear aside, this book is really important to me. My lofty intention is to gather and share the information I’ve learned from my experience of successfully managing a chronic illness with a vegan diet, healthy lifestyle and loads of love. If I feel great living and eating this way then YOU can feel fantastic! Why wait till we’re on the ropes to live like we mean it? It’s gutsy to take a stand NOW! Stand up for your health, for the environment, stand up for the people you love and for future generations. Is it so hard to believe that each of us can make a difference? You in your living room in the middle of nowhere can start a revolution that changes this world for the better. WOW, you’re HOT! You’re POWERFUL! Wanna hang out and hug?
I used to think that I’d get my shit together later in life. Then my diagnosis came a callin’ and I realized that there’s no time like the present. Poof – bye-bye Teflon youth… what an illusion. I’m humbled that my first two books have helped so many with the “little c.” Maybe, just maybe, this new book will open a bigger audience of eyes, plant a few seeds and contribute to reducing the amount of suffering in the world. Perhaps it will save a few folks from similar shit-pickles. And most important, isn’t it beyond time to finally win the war on cellulite!?! Why not dream big, right?
So what the heck will I be writing about? Good question! HELP! Just kidding. Here goes…(throat clearing sounds) – how to thrive on a low glycemic, gluten-free, mostly raw, vegan, organic (when possible) diet and all the mind/body work needed to keep us on track. I’ll include a 4 week cleanse starting with a week-long transition and yummy recipes. As with all my books, a dynamic posse of inspiring experts will contribute their stories and knowledge. My hope is that readers will learn why this way of living is so important on a proof-based, scientific level.
This isn’t a diet book, it’s a game plan. With all the confusion and contradictions out there, it’s not enough to just tell you what to eat and what to stay away from. I want you to really understand WHY. Enter the power of pH, enzymes, fasting, colonics, removing heavy metals, lovin’ your adrenals, pineal a go-go, why minerals are sexy, when to use supplements and what kind, phytonutrients, oxygen, antioxidants, where to get protein/calcium and how much is needed, and most all – how to make this all do-able, enjoyable and cost effective. Sound good? That’s just the tip of the ice berg tootsie. But I can’t give away all my super secret plans!
OK, now I’m starting to sweat like a smelly man. Clearly I have A LOT of work to do. Please wish me luck and love and let me know what YOU want to know.
What do you need to read and why?
Peace and a MacBook,
Kris

I would like to know where you went on your last retreat w/ the infusion of vit c and the stomach test. I know it may not be for all of us, but did you feel it was worth it? Did they test your hormones, and if so, how did that go?
I would really like to know more about that adventure. And, I would also like to know if you have any fear still…your tests are are coming back with shrinking beauty spots…do you still worry about it?
Love you soooo much, you are my rock, my touch-stone.
Peace out!
Yo!
We always say “What Would Kris Do?”
Particularly in regards to making choices when eating out, basic home everyday stretching, massage, and exercise and what websites to look at when we have medical and eating questions and you are not around!
We miss you and I am hugging your book right now!
I love being called a squash pancake! Can’t wait for the book. Thanks for all you do!
You’ve heard it from countless others by now but I just wanted to say a massive thank you! You’ve helped so many more people that you will ever realize and we are all so excited about your new book! I agree with a lot of the suggestions that’ve already been made but wanted to add 2 of my own.
1) for those of us with well-meaning but misinformed friends/family, a section on how to deal with that would be very useful. my family wants me to be happier and healthier but because i’ve gained some weight i get critical comments from them. what they don’t realize is that i’m so much healthier now than i was at my “ideal weight” because i’m no longer poisoning my body with all the drugs (prescribed). they don’t see that difference on a daily basis though so all they focus on is the 15-20lbs i’ve gained in the meantime. i don’t think i’m alone in needing help dealing with well-meaning friends and family so any tips you’ve got would make a fantastic addition to your new book!
2) if you’ve got any ideas you’re not sure about, set up a poll on the blog — you know we’re all happy to give you feedback!!
Thank you for everything you do and for being who you are. You’re such a magnificent woman and we love you so dearly.
happy, healthy and humorous hugs!
Your new book will be great, just as your others have been. I’d like to see you talk about how you separate the wheat from the chaff when you do research. Also, some commentary about the way studies are conducted. And the big thing I’ve never understood is why doesn’t anecdotal testimonies seem to count for anything in the scientific community? It’s not like their methods are so stellarly flawless.
I know that you will write another fantastic book that will inspire all of us to live an optimum and mindful life. Don’t sweat it–the fact that you don’t just talk the talk but immerse yourself in all sorts of study that you share with us means we’re in store for another great book.Thank you so much.
Plain and simple… you and your whole team is amazing. And I’m positive this new book is going to be above and beyond extraordinary. Keep up the great work!!! =]
Good luck!

I am happily waiting for your bundle of knowledge to be born! Since recently discovering that alopecia areata (had since October 2008), may be a sympton of celiac/sprue I am especially interested in gluten free food and recipes that you will give birth to in your newest addition. :)
